Maiden Erlegh School in Reading Delighted to Announce Appointment of New Headteacher – Mr Matt Grantham
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Matt Grantham as the new Headteacher of Maiden Erlegh School in Reading, starting in September 2025.
Mr Grantham brings over 20 years of educational experience and has held senior leadership roles in a range of settings. His career has included key positions such as Acting Headteacher, Head of School and Deputy Headteacher, with a particular focus on school improvement, behaviour leadership, curriculum development, and staff development.
Matt has a strong track record of delivering tangible outcomes for students, staff and families. Under his leadership, schools have improved Ofsted judgements, delivered best-ever GCSE results, and built positive and inclusive learning environments that support all students to thrive.
Matt joins Maiden Erlegh Trust bringing a deep understanding of the Reading context and a strong commitment to our values of Aiming High, Being Inclusive, and Working Together. He is a passionate advocate for inclusion and listening to the student voice and brings a collaborative, evidence-informed leadership style that will support our whole school community.
