The opening of the school marks the end of six years of planning to turn the site in north Reading into the town’s newest secondary school providing a modern, inspiring environment for the education of future generations.   

The planning and construction of River Academy has been a collaborative project that has involved us working closely alongside many stakeholders.  We are particularly grateful for the work and support provided by the DfE project team, AMR Consult, Bowmer + Kirkland, and colleagues from Brighter Futures for Children and Reading local authority. Together we have created a fit for purpose school that will enrich the educational landscape of Reading and the surrounding area.
